Source of the Nile in VR

Source of the Nile in VR180

Journey to the source of the longest river in the world.

This is a VR180 video. Use your finger to swipe or mouse cursor to grab the screen and look around. Best viewed in 3D on a HMD. No host. No voice-over. No music. Just pure immersion.

It took about two hours to get to Jinja from Kampala by car. The driver had trouble finding where the Source of the Nile Park was. You have to pay to get in and also pay for a guide and a boat. You can haggle on the price of the boat ride.

You pass several vendors walking down to the river.

The Nile itself is very tranquil here. There were no crazy waves and you can relax and enjoy the birds and the lush surroundings.

After about half an hour you get to a bubbling spring. This is the actual spot where Lake Victoria turns into the Nile. You can exit the boat here. There is small pier and a souvenir shop.

This is where the Nile starts its 6650km (4132 mile) journey to the Mediterranean.
